How JB Substation Design Ltd handles personal data collected through this website.
Last updated: 07 September 2026
1. Who we are
This website is operated by JB Substation Design Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England & Wales, company number 00000000, with a registered office in Stone, Staffordshire. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
Contact: hello@jbsubstationdesign.co.uk.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy covers personal data collected through this website — principally the enquiry form on our Contact page. It does not cover personal data processed in the course of a client engagement once instructed, which is governed by the terms agreed for that appointment.
3. What we collect
If you use the enquiry form, we ask for your name, company, email address, phone number, client type, voltage level, design stage, disciplines required, and whatever you write in the scope field. Only name, email and the scope field are required.
How the form is handled: the enquiry form is processed by Netlify, which hosts this website, acting as our data processor. Submissions are delivered to us by email and retained in the Netlify dashboard until we delete them. Netlify may process the data outside the UK; where it does, that transfer is covered by the standard contractual clauses in their data processing terms.
This website sets no cookies. It uses Plausible, a privacy-focused analytics service that collects aggregate statistics only and does not set cookies, use persistent identifiers or collect personal data. See our Cookie policy.
4. How we use it
Information you submit is used only to respond to your enquiry and, where you go on to instruct us, to take the steps necessary to enter into and perform that engagement. We will not use it for marketing unless you separately opt in, and we will not sell or rent it to third parties.
5. Legal basis
We rely on taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services, under UK GDPR Article 6.
6. Sharing your data
Enquiry data is processed by Netlify, our hosting and form-handling provider, acting on our instructions as a data processor, and reaches us by email. We do not share it with anyone else. Website analytics are handled by Plausible, which receives no personal data.
7. How long we keep it
Enquiry data is kept only for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up, then deleted. Data relating to an actual engagement is retained in line with our professional indemnity and record-keeping obligations.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, have inaccurate data corrected, have data erased in certain circumstances, restrict or object to processing, and receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect any personal data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above will always reflect the current version.
