1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They can be used to remember preferences, keep you signed in, or track how you use a site across visits.

2. What this website uses

This website sets no cookies. There are no advertising or tracking pixels, no social media embeds, and no session or functional cookies of any kind.

It does use a privacy-focused analytics service, Plausible, to count visits. Plausible does not set cookies, does not use persistent identifiers, does not follow you between websites and does not collect personal data. It records aggregate figures only — page views, referring sites, country, browser and device type — and nothing that identifies an individual visitor. Because no cookie or similar technology is stored on your device, no consent banner is required for it under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.

Plausible also records when the capability statement is downloaded and when an outbound link is followed, again as counts rather than as anything attached to a person.

3. If that changes

If we add any feature that sets cookies in future, we will update this policy first and, where the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations require it, ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie is set.

4. Controlling cookies generally

Even though this site sets none, most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies from any site through their settings.
